Clothing
Wear loose fitting clean clothing, for example T-shirt with track suit bottoms and adequate underwear (including bra and pants).

Consultation
During the consultation at Charmouth Clinic, the patient will be asked what their problem is, where it hurts, and how it started. The patient must also inform the osteopath of any injury, illness, hospital admissions, and medical conditions they have, as this may affect the treatment.
In addition, please bring information about any tablets or medications prescribed by your GP. Patients may be advised to consult their GP for advice if there is concern about a medical condition.

Treatment
Treatment usually starts with some soft tissue massage to the affected area and stretching of the muscles. It is then possible to move to deeper structures including the joints, which can be encouraged to move gently. In this way it is possible to obtain some improvement in function and some reduction of pain in whichever part of the back, neck or limbs that is causing a problem.
Sports injuries
Further improvement may be achieved by manipulating the stiff and immobile joints in the affected area, thereby restoring movement and giving more pain relief.
"I have not seen you for nearly 4 years, but as you have always helped fix my sciatica within one or two visits, I thought I would see you again, Thanks for your help."
